Millfield, OH showed another great year for Houser Racing. Three podium finishes, one in the morning and two in the afternoon. Angel Atwell #202 took home the third place overall in the morning class. Traci Cecco and Mike Benson finished first and second respectively. Starting off to a slow start this year, Chris Jenks #4 kicked it in high gear and took home second place in the afternoon class. Hopefully this means good things for Jenks. Pro-Am rider Ryan Lane #28 also took home second in his class, that makes five second place finishes for Ryan this year. Great work to all riders last weekend! Keep it up!

HOUSER RACING scopes out two sporting events in one weekend!

With motocross and flat track racing in full swing, HOUSER RACING was able to make it to two sporting events over the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd. Jen packed up Friday and drove to Rossville, Indiana for the WPSA ESPN 2 ATV Tour. The rest of the HOUSER RACING clan waited until Sunday to attend the Extreme Dirt Track event held in Ashtabula, Ohio.

ESPN 2 ATV Tour

Racers and spectators could not have wished for better race conditions. There was nothing but sunshine and a light breeze on Saturday and Sunday at the ATV Tour held at the Wildcat Creek MX track in Rossville, Indiana.

With an estimated 500+ attendees Sunday, the weekend had much success. The staff in charge of keeping everything moving did an excellent job: races started back to back with little wait time; transitions between motocross racing and quad terrain racing were smooth and took minimal time; and the announcers did an excellent job of following the race while it was taking place, and kept everyone informed of what was happening when and where. All the racers put on an excellent show for the crowd. Tavis Cain impressed the cameras when he took a few passes on the Suzuki Table top. There was plenty of entertainment throughout the day to keep the crowd busy while transitions and breaks were occurring. A rhino took a few laps around the track, John Natalie assisted in announcing the days events, and the announcers held activities to keep the children involved throughout the day.

Although HOUSER RACING did not have any sponsored Pro Riders attend this ATV event, there was a lot of HOUSER RACING products represented. Some of the riders who supported HOUSER RACING products were: Erin Hendershot, Brock Lyons, Heath Bryan, Scott Shelhart, Chad Evanshine, Chris Evanshine, Shae Colgrove, Danielle Kasper, Katelynn Dantonio, Andrew Prentoski, Jordan Dunn, and Cody Brown. Congratulations to all the riders who got podium finishes at the ESPN 2 ATV tour! For all riders participating in the weekend events, excellent job and thank you for supporting the sport of ATV Racing!

Extreme Dirt Track Race Event

Ashtabula, Ohio was wet and muddy all weekend. Due to rain, all races scheduled for Saturday were canceled. Although it rained from 5 am Saturday morning to 8 pm Saturday night, riders waited it out and were able to get all the scheduled races in Sunday before sunset.

Early in the day cars and trucks were getting stuck in the mud and some riders took spills on the slick track conditions. Once the sun came out, the track dried up and races were able to happen safely.

With "an impressive turnout of nearly 530 entries" (www.atvriders.com), Round 5 at Pine Lake was a success. During a qualifying race, HOUSER RACING'S Harold Goodman finished first.

The Pro Podium for the main event was Keith Little, Tim Farr, and Darin Ogden. Shane Hitt and HOUSER RACING'S Harold Goodman battled for spots 4 and 5. With Hitt tailing him the entire race, Goodman was able to finish in the number 4 spot for the day.

Thanks to all the riders who raced, despite the dangerous conditions. See you again next year in Ashtabula, Ohio!
